Bears CAN be charmed Pre-searing!
So I searched for answers, Tried every combination and was ready to give up but on almost my last try with the combination I knew could be the best chance to work and it did! Now I know most of these threads whether you can or can't are based on rumors and guesses and many are skeptical but I assure it can be done. What you need is exact timing and exact combo of character classes.
You need A R/N or N/R teamed up with a W/Mo or Mo/W. Then you need the following skills: Hammer Bash, Bane Signet, Faitheartedness, and Charm Animal of course. The timing is part that gets you though. You need to keep the bear from using break charm for 10 seconds. The bear attacks in a pattern and you can anticipate the right time to act. This is the part that took me the longest to get right, so I will give you a hint, (The bear can't use break charm while he is mauling). So there is the pieces and if you deserve a bear youll earn one. There are exact times and orders when to use the skills so good luck! [IMG][/IMG] |

If you searched this forums, you'd get your bear faster
Nevertheless, great job on figuring it out yourself. |

Or you could say "screw the bear". I'm tired of hearing about them. 124518one485.234^554325+9 posts about bears as pets. They're nothing special, folks.

Ok so I'll give you better details of how to do it.
The bear attacks in a pattern doing 3 normal hits then mauling. wait for the third normal hit and as he is doing it cast faitheartedness. About a second after that when the attack is done cast charm animal. Hell break the charm if you do it too early but you want to get it as early as you can so play with it to see how soon you can do it. Now the other player needs to wait until the bear is starting to stand up and then use bane signet which should hit just after the mualing attack is almost finished. Now this is where you gain the most time, between charm and bane. So again try to get charm early and use bane late. Then you have to use hammer bash as he is getting up. you want to land the hit just before he is almost up because the second he gets up the charm will break. Too early on this wont give you enough time and youll break at like 9/10 done. So with that and coordination from a friend should get you your bear. |

I've got a question. Is this the only bear that is exactly like this, or can you get exactly the same bear in post-searing. If you can get exactly the same bear in post-searing this isn't really cool if you ask me

I actually think you cant get a bear in pre-searing anymore. I was at guilwars.com reading one of the updates(cant remember which one) and it said it "fixed" it so you cant get bears in pre-searing anymore.

Yea its just unfortunate that the bear does not attack well for some reason. Good job doingit though. I saw a level 18 bear in underworld and he barley did anything I finally stopped healing it cause 98% of the time it was just standing around, even though his master was fighting creatures. bear is not that great. he traded up for a Black Widow...
